OSCAR
COOPERATION PARTNERSHIP IN THE FIELD OF YOUTH 2023-2-FR02-KA220-YOU-000178430
OBJECTIVES AND IDEA

The OSCAR project addresses the pressing issue of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), specifically targeting the low collection rates of small electronic devices like mobile phones and tablets, which are often not returned to collection points.
With only 15% of mobile phones collected in the EU and just 17% of all e-waste recycled worldwide, the improper disposal of these devices contributes significantly to environmental damage due to the presence of hazardous materials.
Motivated by the urgent need to improve the management of this waste, the OSCAR project seeks to foster sustainable behaviors among young people through education. The project will achieve this by developing a Digital Training Hub that provides youth trainers with the resources needed to inspire young people to engage in responsible e-waste disposal and adopt sustainable consumption practices.
Target groups
Youth trainers: Educators teaching young people about the environmental impact of electronic devices and waste.
Youth with fewer opportunities: Including those facing economic challenges, limited education access, or living in remote areas.
Organizations: Youth organizations, environmental NGOs, educational institutions, and government bodies working on youth empowerment, sustainability, and digital education.
